As running costs continue to rise for all businesses, one of the easiest ways to save money and therefore increase profits is by cutting down on costs. Of course, one of the most significant costs of running any business is electricity and there’s lots of ways we can cut down our electricity usage and keep more money in our pockets.

1. Use LED Lights

Replace your incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs – they are much cheaper to run and last longer too

2. Use Solar power

Consider installing solar panels throughout your park or marina. They can help generate free, clean power.

3. Use Gas Appliances

Gas appliances for heating and lighting are generally more energy efficient and cheaper to run than their electric counter parts.

4. Keep Caravans, Boats and Buildings Cool

Parking vans in the shade and using reflective screens on boats and buildings can reduce the need for expensive air conditioning.

5. Use Energy Efficient Appliances

Choose appliances such as air conditioners and fridges with a high energy efficiency rating. This will help you save power and reduce your energy bill.

6. Turn Off Appliances When Not in Use

Don’t keep appliance plugged in or turned on when not in use. This includes TVs, chargers and other electronic devices.

7. Use a Power Bank

Consider using a rechargeable power bank. Charge it during the day when your solar panels are working and use it to charge your devices at night.

8. Use Generators Sparingly

If you have a generator, only use it when necessary. They can be noisy and use a lot of fuel, so it’s best to conserve energy whenever possible.

By using these tips, you can save power (and money) in your caravan park or marina and reduce your environmental impact as well – WIN/WIN!
