How to attract new customers for Caravan Parks & Marinas

Caravana Park and Marina

Whether you are running a caravan park, a camping ground, marina, or any similar type of business, the key to success is attracting people to stay and enjoy your facility and, hopefully keep coming back.

I have a few thoughts on attracting customers, and although each location will be different, these are some basics, which I think we can all work on improving.

  1. Clean and operational facilities

It doesn’t matter whether you have an upmarket property or a budget, basic one, people are not going to want to stay if the area is dirty, cluttered or untidy, or if things like camp kitchens, toilets and bathrooms or service pedestals/power heads are not working. Maintenance is key and although we can’t help with the other areas, service pedestals and power heads are our passion and area of expertise and where we can be of service.

  1. Information about the surrounding area

When people are staying at your property, of course they’ll want to know where all the important stuff like amenity blocks, camp kitchens, boat refuelling stations etc are, but they’ll also want to know what attractions and activities are available close by. If they can get that information easily through you, via supplied flyers or face to face communication, that goes a long way to supplying a great experience for them.

  1. Website

Whether you like it or not, nearly everyone will look for you online at some stage. Your website is very often their first impression and you know what the old saying is about first impressions!  A website that is easy to find, simple to understand and navigate, informative and fresh will always provide that great first point of contact! If your website needs an overhaul, the guys we used are awesome, and no, they are not paying me to say that!  Check them out at https://dictatedigital.com/

  1. People

I always say that the best asset for any business, is the right people. Here at Comsen, quality is key and that comes down to our staff. Having the right people in the right positions and ensuring they have the skills, training and equipment to perform their roles with excellence is the most important part of any business – passion for what they do and drive to do their very best is also very important.

I hope these basic points have got your mind ticking with ideas to fine tune things at your caravan park, camp ground or marina.

Until next time, take care and bye for now!
